The Louisiana Chemistry Association Comments on Turner Industries’ Nuclear Expansion

Louisiana Nuclear Summit 2026

BATON ROUGE, LA – April 28, 2026 -

Today, David Cresson, President and CEO of the Louisiana Chemistry Association (LCA), made the following comment on today’s announcement of Turner Industries’ landmark expansion of its nuclear fabrication capabilities in Louisiana.

“The Louisiana Chemistry Association congratulates Turner Industries on a landmark expansion of its nuclear fabrication capabilities in Louisiana. Turner is a founding member of the Louisiana Chemistry Industrial Alliance, with roots in the organization that go back to its creation in 1990, and continues to demonstrate why Louisiana’s industrial base is among the strongest in the nation.

For decades, Turner has been one of the premier industrial contractors in the country and a cornerstone of Louisiana’s manufacturing economy. This expansion reflects both the strength of that legacy and a clear commitment to the future. The project will bring 1,000 direct jobs paying well above the state average wage and further position Louisiana as a critical hub in the growing nuclear supply chain.

What makes this announcement even more significant is the direction of the investment. Turner is choosing to grow these capabilities in Louisiana, consolidating work here that could have gone elsewhere. In a competitive national landscape where states are fighting to attract and retain industrial capacity, that decision says something important about Louisiana’s workforce, infrastructure, and business environment.

With energy demand accelerating across Louisiana and the country, driven by industrial growth, data center development, and the broader electrification of the American economy, the need for reliable power has never been more urgent. That makes this investment in Louisiana’s nuclear supply chain not just significant but strategic. Louisiana’s chemical manufacturers depend on reliable, affordable energy, and a growing domestic nuclear supply chain strengthens that foundation. LCA is proud to stand alongside Turner as both our industry and our state step into this moment.

We appreciate the leadership of Governor Landry and Louisiana Economic Development in advancing the state’s Nuclear Strategic Framework and helping create the conditions for investments like this to succeed.

This is exactly the kind of project Louisiana should be competing for and winning, and we are proud that a founding LCIA member and Baton Rouge company is at the center of it.”

About the Louisiana Chemistry Association

The Louisiana Chemistry Association (LCA) was formed in 1959 to promote a positive business climate for chemical manufacturing that ensures long-term economic growth for its 65 member companies that operate more than 100 sites throughout Louisiana.

LCA, Louisiana Chemistry Industrial Alliance and related organizations work to protect and expand Louisiana’s petrochemical manufacturing base. It is critical for the industry to have a unified voice in state governmental activities because legislative and regulatory actions can affect capital investment and job retention and growth.

LCA is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of 17 member company representatives, primarily plant managers and divisional vice presidents. LCA has an experienced staff with expertise in the chemical industry, environmental, health, safety, security, governmental affairs, communications and association management.
