Patrick Riley

Director of Governmental Affairs & Assistant Legal Counsel

PatrickrileyPatrick received his J.D./D.C.L from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2021 where he was a Paul M. Hebert Scholar.  He was also awarded the Dean’s Scholar Award and the John P. Laborde Scholarship in Energy Law.  Patrick served as Executive President (2020-2021) and IL Class Officer (2018-2019) of the LSU Law Student Bar Association, and was a member of the Board of Advocates. In 2018, he earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in molecular biology from Louisiana State University. He received the Chairman’s Award and the Distinguished Communicator Certification for his work during that time. Patrick also served as the Director of Logistics for the LSU chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. 

Prior to joining LCA, Patrick was an associate attorney at Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips where he practiced primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, construction, and trademark. He is currently a council member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. Patrick also worked for Harris Deville and Associates in 2020, assisting in strategic communications, legislative monitoring, and bill drafting for oil and gas industry clients. Before beginning law school, Patrick worked for the Louisiana State Senate for five years.
