Rep. Terry Landry's (D - New Iberia) HB 1029 was signed by Governor Bobby Jindal and became Act 661 on June 18.
Rep. Landry’s bill originally created the crime of pointing a laser at an aircraft and was amended to add in LCA’s drone legislation to ban unmanned aircrafts from flying over chemical plants, refineries and nuclear plants. The amendment was passed in the Senate and concurred in by the House prior to final passage of the bill.
