2015 Elections Results

Louisiana has elected a new governor.

Democrat John Bel Edwards defeated Republican David Vitter by a tally of 56-percent to 44-percent. Edwards will be inaugurated and officially take office from outgoing governor, Bobby Jindal, on January 11, 2016.

In other statewide elections results, Republican Billy Nungesser defeated Democrat Melvin "Kip" Holden 55-45 to become Louisiana's next Lieutenant Governor. And the state also has a new Attorney General as Republican challenger Jeff Landry beat Republican incumbent Buddy Caldwell, 56-44.
