| The
Louisiana chemical industry is more than a collection
of companies. It’s a collection of people.
Over 25,000 chemical industry employees not only
work in the communities their companies call home
– they live there, too. Our member companies’
employees want the same things their neighbors want:safe
and clean neighborhoods, good schools, and a strong
economy, just to name a few. |
|
So
while our industry touches the lives of Louisianians
everyday with the products it enhances and produces
– from the nitrogen in potato chip bags that extend
shelf life, to pacemakers that aid ailing hearts to
stronger golf clubs-- it certainly doesn’t stop
there.
LCA
member companies take their cue about what it means
to be good neighbors from local residents. Then Louisiana
Chemical Association (LCA) member companies work side
by side with local residents to make their communities
better.
Chemical
companies exhibit good neighbor values when addressing
the issues that affect local communities the most –
environment, health and safety, security, workforce
development and community relations.
And
LCA keeps that in mind through the benefits it offers
member companies. For example, LCA and LCIA’s
eight-point plan was created to improve the Louisiana
business climate for everyone and all companies –
not just the chemical industry. And when the economy
is stimulated in ways that encourage innovation and
job creation, expand the tax base, and reward –
not penalize – success, the ultimate winner is
the public – our neighbors. And the reason we
want to develop a vision for the state and show leadership
as an industry is to ensure enough quality jobs will
be available for our children and grandchildren.
We
hope this website provides you more than just facts
and figures about our industry. We hope you get a glimpse
at how Louisiana chemical companies walk the walk -
not only talk the talk – when it comes to being
good neighbors.
