ASSOCIATION PROFILE
Founded in 1959
Sixty-six member companies representing ninety-four sites

Governed by a Board of Directors
Senior company representatives, either plant manager or divisional vice presidents, comprise the 17-member Board that governs the association.

Each Board member lives, works and votes in Louisiana and has the authority to speak for his or her company. This ensures a high-quality, peer-oriented decision-making process at the Board level, a key component of a successful trade association.

Experienced Staff
Support is provided to our members by ten experienced employees with expertise in the chemical industry, environmental, health, safety, security, governmental affairs, public relations and association management.

COMMITTEES
The LCA has seven committees:

  • Governmental Affairs
  • Environmental Affairs
  • Legal Affairs
  • Public Affairs
  • Health & Safety
  • Security
  • Workforce Development

These committees are chaired and vice-chaired by the members of the LCA Board of Directors.

Committee members are plant employees who work in the areas covered by the committees.

Each committee identifies issues to be addressed in their respective areas, ranks them in importance, recommends financial resources to address them. These committees meet and report to the LCA Board on a monthly basis.

Each year the committees submit a strategic plan and budget to the membership for approval. These budgets, known as the Strategic Issues Budget or SIB’s are restricted dues and are used for committee projects.
