EDWARD J. FLYNN. Vice-President of Health, Safety and Security, joined the Louisiana Chemical Association in January 1990. He represents the chemical industry to state and local government; elected officials and legislative bodies; the news media; educators; and the general public.

Before moving to Louisiana to join LCA, Ed lived in Washington, DC where he held jobs in both the public and private sectors, working at the United States Department of Commerce (NOAA) and as a senior scientist at the DYNAMAC Corporation, a Rockville, Maryland engineering services firm. Ed received an undergraduate science degree from the City University of New York in 1982, and a Masters in environmental toxicology in 1987. Post graduate course work in environmental health sciences has been done at Tufts University (Boston) and at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). In 2013, Ed will be participating in a federal homeland security Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Ed is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a 23 year resident of Baton Rouge. He is an accomplished long-distance runner with more than a dozen marathons completed. He and his wife have one son, a sophomore at Tulane University in New Orleans.
