Louisiana Foundation for Excellence in Science, Technology & Education
Mission
To promote excellence in science, technology, and education by supporting education and research projects that enhance the economy of Louisiana.
Profile
The foundation’s history begins with the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA), established in 1959. LCA has a long history of working to promote education, workforce development and public awareness regarding public health, environmental and safety standards. LCA recognized that much of the work it is conducting, or would like to conduct, is philanthropic in nature, and therefore the Louisiana Foundation for Excellence in Science, Technology and Education (LaFESTE), a 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in order to expand these activities. In addition to that enumerated above, the
foundation has a keen interest in matters which will affect the economic viability of LCA and LCIA members, especially geopolitical issues as they relate to business supply chain integrity.
